The Johnnie Gold Salver was one in 1972 for the first time by a Swedish Rink. Seen here are the champions skipped by Bengt Cedervall who came from Ostersund in Northern Sweden. Taking a celebratory dram with them are David Kerr (Third right) Managing Director of Johnnie Walker; Allan Cameron, the Convenor (Left); and Sir Hugh Ripley, a director of Johnnie Walker (Third Left).
Both Johnnie walker and the Highland Curlers extend a hearty welcome to all competitors and to wives husbands and friends and hope that there stay in Aviemore will be the highlight of their curling year.

The 1972 Johnnie Walker International Week was opened by Andrew Gichrist, Chairman of the Highlands and Islands Development Board
