A Welcome from the Sponsors

On behalf of all connected with the Glenfarclas Distillery it is my pleasure to welcome you to the 25th International Week of Curling, the Silver Anniversary Bonspiel.

It is a great pleasure to welcome some old friends back to this event after many years, in particular Bob Christie and Elsie Mackenzie – the first two winners of this competition

Many thanks to the organising committee for all the hard work they have done to make this possible

I wish you all a most enjoyable week both on and off the ice at Aviemore

Chairman’s Welcome

On behalf of the committee and all Highland Curlers, welcome to this the 25th Highland Week of International Curling at Aviemore. When the week started in 1967 32 rinks took part, 24 from Scotland and only eight from out with Scotland. This year we have 48 teams in the competition, 14.5 from Scotland with the remainder from other countries.

You will note that the opening ceremony takes place on Saturday night instead of Sunday, which allows everyone and extra .5 hours in bed, and most teams a longer lie in.

Once again our thanks are due to Glenfarclas Malt Whisky for their continued sponsorship, and the Stakis Organisation for meeting our requirements for hotel Accommodation and Ice.

Thank you all for coming to Aviemore and Strathspey. I hope you all enjoy your stay.
